Children born in 2011 are considered U11 players for the 2021 - 2022 soccer season (fall, winter and spring). Cheshire Soccer Club offers several programs for the U11 player.
Travel Soccer Program
This program is open to U11 and older players and is suited for the player who is interested in improving his or her soccer skills and is ready to handle playing games in a more competitive environment. The program emphasizes player development over winning games and players should expect to play in at least half of every game.
Players are divided into teams based on their age and play games against teams of similar age from towns around Cheshire (Eastern edge: Clinton, Western edge: Shelton, Northern edge: Southington). Games are played on the weekend. The date and times of games will vary each weekend and an initial schedule will be provide before the start of the season.
Teams practice two days each week (usually Tuesday and Thursday evenings).
The fall season starts in late August and ends in the beginning of November. The spring season starts in April and ends in mid Juine.
Each team will have a professional coach who is paid by Cheshire Soccer Club. Our coaches have extensive experience playing soccer at high levels and coaching youth soccer. All of our coaches are supervised by our Director of Coaching, DJ Pereira.
The cost of the program is $250 per season which covers coaching salary, referee fees, state registration fees and field maintenance costs. Every player is provided a jersey but parents must purchase shorts, socks and a training shirt from our online store. Players are given a jersey each season but the other items can be reused.
Any child who meets the age requirement can register for the program. There is no tryout to participate in the program or be placed on a specific team. Financial assistance is available.

For those children who enjoy playing soccer but may not be ready to commit more time or play in a more competitive environment, we allow an additional year of participation in our U10 In-House program. Upon reaching U12, children must join the Travel Program.

This is an advanced training program designed for the serious player who has reached a certain level of skill and athleticism and is willing to commit a significant amount of time to training. Teams in the program train three times a week and must commit to participating in the fall, winter and spring seasons. Games are played against teams throughout the state and teams may participate in tournaments outside Connecticut. Teams have a professional coach. The cost of the program is $1800.
Participation in the program requires an evaluation by our Director of Coaching. If your child is interested in the program, please contact DJ Pereira at
